As a Senior Risk Business Analyst
You Will…
Provide senior level onsite consulting expertise to clients to assist them in optimally utilizing our client’s solutions and establishing best practices.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with respect to energy trading and risk.
Take leadership role in working with clients and managers to determine product direction for major functionality enhancements.
Act as Lead Project Manager in providing analytical services and projects to clients.
Formulate consulting services proposals in support of our client’s solutions.
Work with internal and external clients, and act as the Analytical Project Lead dedicated to the conception, design, testing and implementation of the product from a data modeling perspective.
Create business specifications for developers and oversee junior and intermediate level Analysts in developing specifications.
Work with developers on an ongoing basis to develop and enhance the product.
Provide senior level assistance to clients on a day-to-day basis on how to use our client’s solutions.
Perform senior level training sessions with internal and external clients as it relates to our client’s products.
Edit and enhance user documentation of product methodologies, concepts and usability.
May work as part of a development team in senior analyst capacity on long-term projects to deliver production applications.
Drive revenue generation and growth by providing support to pre-sales to design, develop and periodically perform demos of our solutions to potential and existing clients.
You Have…
Superior knowledge of energy risk management and the trading environment; trading of energy commodities such as power, gas and oil, and foreign exchange.
Superior knowledge of risk analytics; advanced modeling experience with various risk metrics including Mark-to-Market (MtM), Value-at-Risk (VaR), Earnings-at-Risk (EaR), Credit Risk and various statistical and simulation models.
Superior understanding of energy derivatives pricing models.
Ability to lead within a very team-oriented environment.
Superior ability to conceptualize client needs, perform gap analysis reviews and translate into specific implementation strategies.
Superior quantitative and analytical skills.
Superior written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Bachelor’s or graduate level degree in Mathematics, Finance or other related degree.
Accreditation to professional designation such as CFA, PRM, or FRM.
5 to 10 years of work experience associated with the energy risk management or energy trading fields.
Nice to Have:
Advanced understanding of software development and the software development cycle.
Senior level ability to work with SQL to access an Oracle database through a data query tool.
Working knowledge or exposure to analytics, reporting tools and statistics products such as SAS, SPSS, Angoss, etc.
Superior systems analysis skills.
Travel and Location:
Ability to travel internationally approximately 50% of the time as this is mainly an external client-facing role. Other work will be done onsite at the Calgary office.
Our client will consider relocating the incumbent to Calgary for this role.
Salary: 100K to $140K + bonus
