IT Help Desk - Systems Administrator, Toronto

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Enterprise Technology group as an IT Help Desk - Systems Administrator. This role serves as the first point of contact for all IT-related queries within the office, supporting and maintaining IT hardware assets and providing essential technical expertise. This role will be based in Toronto.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level support for all desktop issues and executive/team support.
  • Advanced troubleshooting across various IT domains such as end-user hardware, mobility, desktop applications, network fundamentals, updates, and patch management.
  • Deploy and manage IT devices including computers, laptops, printers, and mobile phones, ensuring robust security hardening and system integrity.
  • Develop and conduct training and orientation for end-users on IT systems and processes.
  • Manage audio/visual and telecommunication systems for meeting rooms and individual users (MS Teams).
  • Administer mailboxes, licenses, and permissions through Active Directory/Azure AD and Office 365.
  • Document and maintain accurate system configurations and architecture.
  • Implement change management initiatives and support the adaptation of new IT solutions.
  • Conduct security analysis and apply relevant policies across all managed systems.
  • Provide onsite support to one of two offices located within Toronto’s Financial District.

Candidate Profile:

  • A minimum of five years of IT experience, with at least two to three years in a systems administration role.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to establish trust and rapport with team members and stakeholders.
  • A collaborative, results-driven, and service-oriented disposition.
  • Strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and addressing gaps in IT service delivery.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft technologies including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory/Azure AD, Group Policy, and Microsoft Intune.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting to enhance operational efficiency and automate repetitive tasks is advantageous.
  • Certifications in ITIL and Change Management are highly regarded.
