Senior Engineer, Digital Workplace and Platform

How does the role impact the organization?

The Senior Engineer – Digital Workplace Platform Services at Raymond James ensures the stability and efficiency of essential technology systems. This role focuses on Identity and Access Management, hybrid Active Directory, and digital workplace technologies. Utilizing strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, the Senior Systems Engineer will enhance IT planning, service delivery, and governance to support seamless business operations.

What will your role be responsible for?

  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the long-term efficiency of the network and systems.
  • Administration and maintenance of the remote monitoring and management system: update agent scripts, respond to alerts, monitor dashboard, and periodic system review.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage infrastructure solutions based on application needs and anticipated growth, deploy and configure new virtual servers.
  • Configure, maintain, monitor, upgrade, and support network services, such as Active Directory and AD Replication, DNS, DHCP, SMB, DFSR.
  • Work with internal Security teams to remediate critical security findings on Servers and identity access management.
  • Perform upgrades, patches, and updates to production applications and servers.
  • Configure, maintain, monitor, upgrade, and support Exchange on-premise and Office 365 environment.
  • Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online administration.
  • Microsoft Exchange and messaging administration: Expertise in managing and troubleshooting Office 365 Exchange environments, including handling DKIM, SPF, and other email authentication issues.
  • Analyze, design, and support a highly complex, enterprise-level Active Directory and Single Sign-On services in a hybrid on-premise and cloud-hosted environment.
  • Manage, maintain, and support MFA infrastructure, including escalations from service desk as well as troubleshooting, configuring new SAML configurations and upgrading on-premise connectors.
  • Manage and troubleshoot all aspects of Active Directory and Azure EntraID, including synchronization, infrastructure, and user accounts.
  • Responsible for deploying and managing security SSL / PKI Certificates utilizing Enterprise Certificate Lifecycle Management solution.
  • Create, troubleshoot, and maintain scripts, including PowerShell and Batch scripts to automate repetitive tasks for improved reliability and efficiency.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of technology projects, ensuring they meet business objectives and are delivered on time.
  • Create and maintain system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.
  • Provide off-hours support for critical and other production issues as part of the team on-call rotation.

What do we expect from you?

To qualify for this opportunity you possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in technology, computer science or equivalent proven IT work experience.
  • 5+ years of systems administration experience, directly supporting MS Exchange, Active Directory and Azure EntraID in a large, multi-forest, hybrid environment.
  • 5+ years of experience deploying, administering, and upgrading Microsoft Active Directory, AD Sites and Services, FSMO Roles, AD Replication, ADFS.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience creating, tuning, and troubleshooting AD Group Policy Objects (GPO).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing internal and external DNS servers, records, and zones.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience deploying, administering, and upgrading Windows Server and Client operating systems.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience maintaining enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Exchange/Email Administration: Expertise in managing and troubleshooting Office 365 Exchange environments, including handling DKIM, SPF, and other email authentication issues.
  • Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online administration.
  • Single Sign-On Experience with SAML, PING, OKTA, or Siteminder.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills. Comfortable communicating in person and via phone/email with peers, management, contractors, and vendors.
  • Excellent analytical ability, strong judgment and management skills, and the ability to work effectively and independently with clients, vendors, IT management, and staff.
  • Advanced problem diagnosis and resolution required, with a sharp focus on enterprise security analysis and optimizing system reliability and performance.

Salary Range: BC (based on Education, Work Experience, etc) $105,000 - $115,000 in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives.
