Position Information

Join one of Canada's largest teaching hospitals and take advantage of the many opportunities offered that will help you transition from new grad to RN. New graduate nurses work in areas such as Acute Medicine, Inpatient Surgery, Oncology, Critical Care, Post-Acute Care, and more! Opportunities may be located at the Civic Campus, General Campus, or other off-site locations.

Our Nursing Education team provides an extensive nursing orientation as well as a wide range of education sessions to help you establish a solid foundation as you begin your nursing career. We have several supports and resources to further enhance your successful transition into nursing practice, clinically and socially, including Nurse Educators, Orientation Buddies, and Clinical Nurse Experts.

Rotation/Shifts

New graduate RN opportunities are available with the following rotations (dependent on each unit's schedule):

  1. Full-Time: 2 Day/2 Night Rotation (12 hours Days/Nights/Weekends), OR Traditional Line;
  2. Part-Time Commitment #1: pre-scheduled a minimum of 4 x 11/25 hour shifts, for minimum of thirty (30) hours per pay period;
  3. Part-Time Commitment #2: pre-scheduled a minimum of 3 shifts per six week rotation, and in addition is pre-scheduled to work the Christmas period or New Year's period. In addition, is available to be pre-scheduled a minimum of sixty (60) hours between June 15 and September 15.

What You Will Bring

  • Graduate of a Canadian Nursing School;
  • Eligible for Certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Ability to perform BCLS to the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Demonstrates an understanding and a willingness to participate in self-evaluation.
