Description:

Shared Health (1502-155 Carlton Street, Winnipeg MB, R3C 5R9), and The University of Manitoba, Department of Surgery, are inviting applications for a full-time academic functional and epilepsy neurosurgeon to fill our labour shortage in Manitoba. Main job duties include diagnosis and treatment of diseases, prescribing medications and treatment, ordering lab tests and x-rays and other diagnostic procedures, and consulting with other physicians as required, which encompasses 75% of the position. The successful candidate would also be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor and appointed as a geographical full-time member of the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba, which encompasses 25% of the position. Job duties are required in English.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree with specialization in neurosurgery. The candidate must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Fellowship training or equivalent experience in both functional and epilepsy surgery is strongly preferred. Clinical research is an expectation, and the development of a dedicated research program is a possibility for candidates with a strong research interest.

Compensation:
