Job Summary

Conduct repairs and maintenance on a variety of equipment including snow cats, snowmobiles, excavators, truck fleet, snow plows, industrial and stationary engines, belts, chains, gears, heavy equipment, clutches, couplings, and other various heavy equipment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on a variety of equipment including snow cats, excavators, industrial and stationary engines, belts, chains, gears, heavy equipment, clutches, couplings, and other various heavy equipment.
  • Typical repairs include, but are not limited to, routine maintenance and repairing engine chassis and body components, hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, wheels, and tires.
  • Inspect machines and discover any functionality issues.
  • Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Road test vehicles to troubleshoot problems and/or test repairs to ensure proper and safe completion.
  • Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures and in a safe and responsible manner, within the designated time frame.
  • Use a large array of hand and power tools.
  • Maintain the shop as a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Perform all other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position reports to the Manager, Mountain Operations, and does not require any direct supervisory responsibilities.

Required Qualifications and Abilities

  • Welding and fabrication experience is an asset.
  • Previous ski industry or related experience is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Good working knowledge of current WCB regulations.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment, ATVs, and 4×4 trucks in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Ability to operate snowmobiles – training provided on site.
  • Good communication skills, self-motivated, mature, dependable, and able to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • This position requires flexibility with work schedules, including work on weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Working Conditions

Hours of operation are weather-dependent. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times and may include shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.

Compensation and Benefits

$39.20/hour up to $44.53/hour. Plus, when applicable: an additional $4.00/hour premium rate for weekends and any after-hour shifts.
