Position Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger, revenue and expenses, accounts receivable and accounts payable. The Finance Assistant will perform a full range of professional accounting duties involved in fiscal management, record keeping, reporting and financial analysis of the facility.

This role will pay a salary of $40,000 to $47,000 CAD.

This position will remain open until Dec 31, 2024.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee general accounting functions, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
  • Serve as back-up for bi-weekly payroll for all salaried and hourly employees.
  • Perform GL account reconciliations monthly.
  • Prepare some event settlements and participate in the settlement meeting with the promoter as assigned.
  • Assist in preparing event settlements for London Knights and London Lightning events.
  • Coordinate with Box Office on daily reports and deposits.
  • Reconcile the daily bank transactions to respective bank accounts and prepare journal entries.
  • Verify the weekly statements from the ticketing company and reconcile reports to cash deposited.
  • Provide support for the Human Resources function through maintaining records and files; administering employee benefits as needed.
  • Implement and maintain accounting controls and procedures.
  • Contact customers to seek payment, inform clients of overdue accounts and collect payment.
  • Prepare wire transfers and cash order instructions to the bank, for management approval.
  • Prepare bi-weekly cheque runs for timely payments to vendors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, business administration or a closely related field.
  • Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Capable of working with all levels of management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Sage 100, Oracle Netsuite and ADP payroll processing is an asset.
