Environmental Services Technician

Overview

Dusts, dry mops and cleans items such as medicine cabinets, furniture, metals, mirrors and equipment.

Vacuums blinds, screens and vents.

Performs miscellaneous duties such as replenishing supplies.

Sterilizes rooms after isolation.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and services rooms and offices.
• Cleans and mops floors.
• Damp dusts furniture and equipment.
• Washes inside windows.
• Empties waste baskets.
• Arranges rooms in an orderly fashion.
• Cleans bathrooms, sinks, mirrors, and supplies soap, towels, and tissues.
• Cleans patient checkout beds and changes curtains as needed.
• Performs a variety of related duties.
• Cleans and services buildings.
• Dust mops, wet mops, buffs floors, halls, rooms, stairways, and cleans carpets.
• Periodically waxes floors and damp dusts furniture and equipment.
• Gathers and disposes of trash.
• Cleans high areas and moves furniture and equipment in the hospital as required.

Qualifications

Education: GED or High School Diploma required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
