A Day in the Life of a Nottawasaga Mechanical Service Technician:

As an HVAC Service Technician at Nottawasaga, your days will be a mix of troubleshooting, commissioning, routine maintenance, and emergency service calls—always with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Your workday begins at 8:00 AM, starting at our Wasaga Beach office where you'll gather parts, review your schedule, and head out to your first call.

Who Should Apply?

  • Outstanding customer service.
  • Well developed residential HVAC diagnostic and repair skills - This is not a sales position.
  • Familiarity with furnaces, AC's, boilers, hydronics, geothermal, heat pumps, controls, and air quality.
  • Experience with commercial refrigeration service and repair is an asset.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Accurate, detail-oriented reporting.

Licence requirements:

  • 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic
  • TSSA Gas Technician 2 (Gas 1 is an asset)
  • ODP certificate
  • In good standing with the OCOT/STO
  • A valid G Driver's License, with a clean abstract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and Repair HVAC Systems: Quickly identify issues with HVAC systems and perform the necessary repairs to restore optimal function.
  • Routine Maintenance & Warranty Work: Conduct regular maintenance tasks to ensure systems run efficiently and safely, while also handling warranty-related repairs.
  • Customer Consultations: Provide expert recommendations for system upgrades, replacements, and long-term solutions. Our emphasis is on solutions, not sales.
  • Customer Education: Explain maintenance procedures and offer tips to customers on keeping their HVAC systems in top condition.
  • Accurate Documentation: Maintain detailed records of service calls, repairs, and maintenance to ensure transparency and communication with the customer and office team.
  • Collaboration: Stay connected with the office to ensure customer schedules are adhered to and service expectations are met.

Experience:

  • HVAC Service Repair: 1 year (required)
  • Commercial HVAC: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • TSSA G2 (required)
  • Ontario driver's license (required)
  • 313A or 313D license (required)
