The starting annual salary for this Secondary School Teacher position ranges from $17,685.67 to $31,018.99, with placement on the July 1, 2024 Teacher Salary Grid based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

WJ Mouat Secondary has a diverse student population of 1500 with a rich multi-cultural student demographic.

Leaning into personalized, inquiry-based instruction, the successful individual will be able to unpack and assess students based on the curricular competencies using the provincial performance standard. The teacher will be responsible for teaching in an inquiry-based model and provide support to a diverse and complex student community. The teacher must be able to create inquiry/project-based learning experiences that explore big ideas and concepts allowing students to thrive within an environment of complex knowledge construction as opposed to simple recall or retell of information. WJ Mouat is looking for a forward thinking, collaborative educator who thrives in a team environment and is willing to continue to operate on the leading edge of education and adjust practice accordingly.

• Major/minor in Mathematics
• Experience teaching Mathematics at the Secondary level
• Eligible for B.C. Certification
• Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reports
