Job Title: Junior Accountant

Job Overview: Our member company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join their finance team, in Brantford, ON. The ideal candidate will assist with daily accounting tasks, maintain accurate financial records, and support the overall accounting functions of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist with maintaining financial records and ensuring accuracy in financial transactions.
2. Process accounts payable and receivable, including managing invoices and payments.
3. Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
4. Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
5. Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
6. Assist with payroll processing and related reports.
7. Handle day-to-day accounting tasks, such as data entry and filing.
8. Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by senior accounting staff.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus.
4. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
5. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
7. Previous experience in accounting or a related field is a plus, but not required.
