Travel Requirement:

Hours: Must be available for all shifts (days, weekends and stat holidays) 7:00-3:00 or 8:00-4:00 and rotating weekends.

Salary Scale: 2024 NOWU SU04: 26.692 - 27.707

About Mount Sinai Fertility:

Mount Sinai Fertility is committed to making the best options available to patients seeking to create families and preserve their fertility while supporting their overall health and well-being. We are an ambulatory unit, open 7 days a week with 3 satellite locations in the Greater Toronto Area. Our average annual number of treatment cycles is 3,400.

As a teaching hospital, we help train the next generation of fertility professionals. We offer a wide range of fertility treatments including: Cycle Monitoring, Timed Intercourse, Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Pre-Implantation Genetic Testing (PGT), Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET), Medically Indicated Fertility Preservation, Egg Freezing and Sperm Banking.

In this role you will:

  • Clean instruments, patient equipment, exam beds, stretchers, and fridges
  • Wrap and pouch instruments to send to central sterilizing
  • Pick up linen carts, fold and distribute clean linen, ensure adequate supplies of linen, collect soiled linen from all units, and replace bags in linen hampers
  • Stock individual clinic rooms with linen, medical and surgical supplies
  • Distribute mail
  • Ensure cleanliness of bathrooms and top-up supplies as required
  • Assist with transporting equipment, nutritional supplies, files and records to and from the main hospital
  • Receive supplies via courier for medical-surgical carts. Direct orders and distribute to the ordering office
  • Vacuum filters and ceiling vents as required
  • High level disinfection of ultrasound probe
  • Collect and deliver patient specimens
  • Pick up medications from MSH pharmacy as required
  • Environmental room turnover and terminal clean
  • Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned

Job Requirements:

Mandatory:

  • Successful completion of a high school diploma

Preferred:

  • Certification in Central Sterilization Course (CSAO)
  • 1 year housekeeping experience

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to take direction and work co-operatively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position in order to perform the essential duties of the job which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, and lifting of patients/equipment for extended periods of time
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with patients/families/co-workers
  • Demonstrated proficiency in communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to be flexible/adaptable in quickly changing work environment
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
