Peter Ballantyne Field Services is looking for a skilled and proactive Site Services Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of site services, ensuring that all utilities, equipment, and systems are functioning optimally to support the day-to-day activities of the site. This role requires a focus on safety, compliance, and efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform general maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, cleaning, and upkeep of site facilities, equipment, and infrastructure (e.g., plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC systems).
- Oversee the operation of essential utilities, including water, electricity, gas, and waste management systems. Ensure all systems are running smoothly and resolve any issues promptly.
- Operate and maintain various equipment, such as forklifts, cranes, generators, or power tools, as needed for site operations.
- Ensure the safe and efficient disposal of waste materials, including hazardous waste, by following regulatory guidelines and company procedures.
- Monitor the site for safety hazards, enforce safety protocols, and respond to emergency situations. Maintain safety equipment and ensure compliance with site-specific safety standards.
- Help monitor site security by ensuring all access points are secured, identifying and reporting any security issues, and ensuring compliance with visitor and employee access control procedures.
- Maintain inventory of necessary supplies and equipment, ensuring that materials are readily available for use and conducting stock checks as needed.
- Collaborate with other teams or departments to ensure smooth site operations, such as coordinating with construction, maintenance, or logistics teams for timely service delivery.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, safety inspections, equipment usage, and any incidents. Prepare regular reports for site management or senior staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Proven experience in site operations, maintenance, or a similar role (preferred).
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and practices.
- Experience operating heavy machinery, vehicles, or equipment (preferred).
- Basic mechanical skills and the ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting (preferred).
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
- Comfortable with physically demanding tasks, including bending, crouching, and lifting.
- Ability to operate machinery and equipment safely.
- Work is performed primarily outdoors or on-site, with potential exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and other environmental factors.
- May involve working in high-risk areas or hazardous environments, requiring adherence to strict safety protocols.
