What You Will Do

You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive quality assurance program for ongoing track construction projects throughout the subway system. The incumbent is responsible for developing, co-ordinating, and participating in quality assurance checks. In addition, the incumbent will provide frontline engineering support to the night shift regarding installation issues and carry out a variety of technical inspections and projects as required.

This involves:

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive quality assurance program for all track construction work throughout the subway system.
  • Monitoring the quality control of the track construction and rehabilitation projects.
  • Assisting the Track Maintenance & Rehabilitation Supervisor with the administration of track construction activities.

  • Ability to communicate in various mediums.
  • Demonstrated specialized expertise and knowledge in the assigned field.
  • Application of quality assurance principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical skills.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

  • You are a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
  • Your educational background is in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • You have several years of related work experience in inspection and/or management of construction projects.
  • You possess sound knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and practices, as well as relevant federal and provincial standards and regulations, including the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • You have demonstrated experience in construction inspection and/or quality assurance.
  • Highly developed computer skills and knowledge of software applications related to the work are essential.
  • You must have or quickly acquire detailed knowledge of TTC Track Standards and an understanding of Railroad Engineering Principles.
  • You can maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management.
  • You possess sound judgment, good organizational, administrative, interpersonal, verbal communication, and technical report writing skills; excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
