ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Learning & Development Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating, designing, delivering, and evaluating organization-wide learning initiatives, and managing learning technologies, participant and classroom logistics. You will also be responsible for documentation and knowledge management, ensuring that all learning resources and program materials are effectively organized and accessible. This position reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer.
WHAT YOU’LL DO / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify training needs and objectives.
- Serve as a point of contact for participants, leaders, and Human Resource Business Partners to ensure smooth program delivery and sustainment.
- Foster relationships with subject matter experts, vendors, and partners to enhance program content and effectiveness.
- Create and manage training communications.
Participant, Classroom, and Learning Systems Management:
- Assist in the planning and execution of all learning and development programs.
- Coordinate logistics for training sessions, including scheduling, venue/virtual platform setup, and participant communication.
- Manage enrollment, attendance tracking, manager engagement, and evaluation processes for training programs.
- Provide virtual classroom production support and troubleshoot issues during virtual training sessions.
- Facilitate participant engagement through interactive tools, discussions, and feedback collection.
- Administer and maintain learner and program records using the organization's learning technologies (e.g. Dayforce, HR Downloads, Guru, WorkRamp, SharePoint, etc.).
- Manage and oversee the continuous improvement of the learning technology suite, exploring enhancements and innovations to improve learner experience.
- Collaborate with IT and vendors to implement HR learning technology features or resolve system issues as needed.
- Represent HR on the Health & Safety committee and assist with design, planning and facilitation of all committee initiatives.
Program Design, Documentation, and Delivery:
- Design, develop and maintain programs and materials, including presentations, manuals, live classroom, and e-learning modules, in support of programs like:
- Talent / Performance Management
- Leadership and Professional Development
- Health and Safety
- Wellness, Equity Task Force, Change Coalition, and Culture
- Industry / Business Trainings / SOCAN Academy
- Corporate New Hire Orientation
- Facilitate employee training programs including virtual classroom, in-person training, and overall training program management.
- Implement a standardized system for cataloging and archiving learning content and knowledge repositories, ensuring consistency and version control.
Evaluation, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement:
- Ensure accurate tracking of training completion, certifications, participation data, and other participant analytics.
- Administer feedback mechanisms and develop metrics, collect and analyze data on program effectiveness, participant satisfaction, and learning outcomes.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing key findings and recommendations for management.
- Monitor and assess the impact of training initiatives on organizational goals and employee performance.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in program design and delivery based on feedback and data.
Program Coordination:
- Assist with Culture Committee, Change Coalition and Equity Task Force programming and initiatives.
- Manage Education Assistance Program and assist in management of training budgets.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING / QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in education, human resources, instructional design, knowledge management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in training, learning and development, or a related area, preferably in a non-profit or music industry setting.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
- Proven facilitator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and knowledge management systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience with virtual training platforms (e.g., MS Teams) and learning design and management technologies (e.g. LMS administration, SharePoint, Storyline, Camtasia, etc.) is an asset.
- Health & Safety Certification, an asset.
- Bilingualism in English and French.
