Mine Haul Truck Swap Operator

The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada’s largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico and Brazil.

Greenstone Mine is seeking Mine Haul Truck Swap Operators to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Mine Haul Truck Operator is responsible for safely and productively operating a large Mine Haul Truck. This is a permanent position where team members are required to work up to 8 hours a day. Candidates will be responsible for the swapping of haul trucks for operator breaks.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

• Operate the Large Mine Haul Truck in a safe and efficient way in accordance with all relevant legislation, company policies and procedures.
• Perform Field Level Risk Assessments.
• Cleaning operator cabin and refilling equipment fluids as required.
• Complete logbooks and daily reports on safety issues and production.
• Accurately track all load’s sources, and destinations.
• Use two-way-radio, horn, and light signals to communicate with other operators and ensure safety.
• Use the Mine Haul Truck according to operating practices, policies, and procedures to haul materials such as sand, aggregates, blasted rock, and snow to various locations on the mine site.
• Monitor gauges, and other indicators to ensure the mine haul truck is working properly, report discrepancies.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

• Heavy Equipment Operator Training is required
• Valid G1, equivalent or higher driver’s license
• Prior experience in an industrial setting and/or mine site experience is an asset
• Ontario Surface Common Core Training is an asset

LOCATION

• This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario.

Greenstone Mine provides company transportation from multiple pick-up point locations.
