As a general laborer with Vossloh, you will learn your trade on the job. Individuals that are looking for an opportunity to learn and grow will be further trained to operate our machinery.

The general laborer will perform many tasks within the production facility, including:

  • Operating small hand tools to install components along the automated line-up
  • Shoveling waste concrete
  • Installing date codes into the concrete forms
  • Placing wire sets correctly and safely into the concrete forms
  • Distributing rail tie hardware into concrete forms
  • Installing rail tie hardware onto the completed ties
  • Visually and mechanically inspecting finished ties for defects
  • Sweeping, wiping and general clean up of workstations
  • Reporting issues or problems with production to immediate supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to adjust and adapt quickly to changes
  • Ability to work quickly and methodically
  • Ability to concentrate while doing repetitive tasks
  • Ability to follow instructions

WORK AVAILABILITY

  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance according to company guidelines
  • Must be available and willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.00 per week
