Job Title: Maintenance Assistant

Location: Remote Fly-in Camp, Nunavut
Rotation: 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off
Background Checks: Drug & Alcohol screening and criminal record check required

Position Overview:
Tamatta Mining & Construction is recruiting for one of our esteemed clients seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals for the role of Maintenance Assistant at a remote fly-in camp in the breathtaking region of Nunavut. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance duties including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tasks.
• Assist in the upkeep and repair of camp facilities and equipment.
• Ensure a safe and clean working environment at all times.
• Collaborate with team members to solve problems and improve operations.
• Participate in safety briefings and adhere to all safety protocols.

Requirements:

• Basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a labourer in remote settings.
• Level 1 First Aid Certification (or equivalent 2-day course) - required.
• PAL license for wildlife monitoring - preferred.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Office 365).
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Positive attitude with a genuine desire to support team success.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a remote camp setting.
• Familiarity with diesel generators, off-road vehicles, and chainsaws.
• Trades experience is an asset.
• Versatile handyman skills with a willingness to adapt to various tasks.
