Director, Financial Transactions and Administration

The Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia (WCB Nova Scotia) is the province’s provider of workplace injury insurance. About The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Financial & Risk Officer, the Director of Financial Transactions and Administration is a strategic, collaborative, and results-oriented leader who contributes to the overall success of WCB Nova Scotia, playing a critical role in ensuring financial payments and transactional excellence. The Director oversees the Service Resolution team (healthcare-related payments and resolutions), the Corporate Operational Resources (CORe) (facilities) team, and the Financial Transactions team. The Director provides leadership and direction, drives financial performance, and supports decision-making and risk management best practices across the organization. The Director understands the strategic direction of the WCB, including the WCB’s environment of exceptional service and evolving customer expectations. The Director is a member of the Senior Leadership team and identifies opportunities to achieve strategic business objectives, innovate in the delivery of programs and services in their area, and improve operational and financial performance for the organization. The Director will work with the Vice President of Financial Services on varying aspects of financial reporting, projects, and risk management.

About You

As the ideal candidate, you have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related area, combined with 7 years of progressive leadership experience along with experience in financial management, audit, and risk management. A professional accounting designation (CPA) is preferred.

As an authentic people leader, you have a proven track record of building and developing high-performing teams that drive sustained success.
