Your Opportunity:

The Medical Radiation Technologist I position at ACH operates in the specialized, highly technical environment of X-Ray. The MRT Technologist I, under limited supervision, assesses patients, analyzes and interprets diagnostic data, and provides information to the Radiologist to assist in diagnosis, clinical intervention, and patient management. Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required. These services are performed in an effective, efficient, and safe manner. As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging team, this position is responsible for working the day shift and weekend daytime shift 7 on 7 off every other weekend and on call as assigned. The successful candidate will also support the modalities of CT and IR when scheduled in X-Ray during the weekend daytime shifts. Training and orientation will be provided.

Description:

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You will interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination, produce high-quality diagnostic images for Physician/Radiologist review, and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment. Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must be able at times to work alone and be able to stand wearing Lead Aprons for an extended period of time.
