Founded in 1967, Arts New West is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the arts to the heart of community life. Through engaging programming, arts advocacy, and artist support, we foster a vibrant and inclusive cultural scene in New Westminster.
We are seeking a creative and social media-savvy Marketing Coordinator to develop and execute a dynamic marketing strategy for our summer events. This role is ideal for someone passionate about storytelling through Instagram, Facebook, and other digital platforms, with experience in content creation, photography, and video production.
The ideal candidate will capture the energy of our events through engaging social media content, including reels, stories, posts, and live updates, while also assisting with traditional marketing efforts such as print materials and press releases.
Social Media & Digital Content Creation
- Develop and execute creative social media strategies to promote Arts New West events and programs.
- Capture and create engaging reels, stories, and posts that highlight performances, exhibitions, and community moments.
- Conduct artist and musician interviews and share behind-the-scenes content to showcase the local creative community.
- Use Canva and other design tools to create eye-catching digital graphics.
- Post live updates from events to foster real-time audience engagement.
- Monitor and analyze social media metrics to optimize engagement.
Photography & Videography
- Take high-quality photos and videos of events, artists, and community members (using your phone or camera).
- Edit and produce short-form videos for social media platforms.
Marketing Coordination
- Assist in developing press releases, e-newsletters, and website updates.
- Seek out marketing partnerships to expand Arts New West’s reach.
- Maintain an organized content calendar and track promotional efforts.
- Any other tasks that may be reasonably required of this position.
- Communications or Marketing student, or equivalent experience or training.
- Strong experience with social media platforms, especially Instagram (reels, stories, posts, and live updates).
- Knowledge of social media analytics and engagement strategies.
- Experience in photography and video production for digital marketing.
- Proficiency in Canva or other graphic design tools.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for the arts and community engagement.
