Design Assistant

The Opportunity

ZE Power Engineering is an innovative industry leading company that provides engineering services to the electric utility industry. We are currently seeking an individual as a Design Assistant to assist Designers in administrative tasks and provide support to a multi-faceted team of designers and engineers of the company. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a great team environment at a fast-growing company.

Responsibilities

1. Assist in documentation tasks, such as BC One Call, design uploads to SharePoint, work order (WO) conversions, Job Planning Folder (JPF) process, civil/vegetation packaging, and project closeout procedures.
2. Support BC OneCall tickets, database updates, and permit applications under supervision.
3. Ensure accuracy in documentation, including JPF preparation, pole permit submissions, and vegetation/civil JPF uploads into SAP.
4. Utilize software and tools, including SAP, GIS asset databases, financial/work order software, SharePoint, BC OneCall, Microsoft suite, and the internal database.
5. Participate in closeout processes and ensure compliance with established protocols.
6. Communicate effectively with team members, field technicians, and managers to ensure timely task completion.

Required Qualifications and Skills

1. Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills.
2. A valid Class 5 driver's license.
3. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
4. A proactive and results-driven approach to work. Self-motivated and independent.

Preferred

1. A diploma or certificate in an engineering or technology relevant to the electric utility field.
2. Ability to read and interpret technical design drawings and details.
3. Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
