MPE, a Division of Englobe, is seeking Project Manager-Civil Engineer to join our team in our Medicine Hat office. The successful candidate will use their technical and management skills to deliver a wide variety of water conveyance and other infrastructure projects.

Your Contribution

As a Project Manager-Civil Engineer, you will work in collaboration with the Municipal Civil Engineering Team.

Your main responsibilities will be:

1. Prepare and review reports, proposals, expressions of interest, design drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
2. Oversee a multi-discipline design and construction team on projects.
3. Provide leadership, team building and mentoring of junior staff members.
4. Develop business with existing and potential clients as well as partnering opportunities with other firms to expand MPE’s business market.
5. Ensure applicable standards, quality assurance and quality control procedures are followed during the design process.
6. Prepare and oversee cost management of engineering and construction budgets.
7. Coordinate design and construction tasks of multi-discipline teams.
8. Reinforce the development of standards related to our civil engineering drawings, ensuring best practices for project design and delivery, and when applicable sustainable building construction.
9. Review drawings for interferences with other disciplines.
10. Utilize industry specific software and related technologies in design.
11. Successfully develop relationships with engineers, technologists, technicians, and construction personnel.
12. Meet with clients regarding projects, progress reporting, and the resolution of technical issues, when required.
13. Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules.
14. Other duties, as required.

1. Professional Engineer designation in Alberta (APEGA) or Professional Technologist designation through ASET.
2. Municipal Project experience.
3. 5 years of relevant experience in the field of Civil Engineering and 1-year additional experience in Project Management.
4. Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
5. Must be responsive and self-driven.
