10 to 12 years

Responsibilities

• 10+ years of experience as an Automation Engineer.
• 8+ years of working experience with common machine shop techniques.
• Must have experience with line automation, including the design and installation of special purpose machines (SPM).
• Mandatory experience in the manufacturing automation domain (at least 3 years).
• Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience of drafting principles.
• 6+ years’ experience in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Thorough knowledge of the use of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical devices (e.g., switches, load cells, LVDTs).
• Capability of designing tooling from sketches or verbal concepts.
• Review electrical requirements concerning input and output devices with electrical designers.
• Assist fabricators, machinists, toolmakers, and electricians in debugging, integration, resolving problems, and completing systems.
• Strictly follow CSA N285 / NQA quality requirements.
• Organize documentation, including quotes, drawing registers, correspondence, requisitions, drawings, schedules, etc., for projects you are supervising.
• Perform engineering calculations related to strength of materials, speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, force, etc., as related to machine and tool designs.
• Provide design support related to the construction of CSA B51 and CSA N285.0.
