As a Manager, National Tax your responsibilities will include:

1. Working with the National Tax team to serve as a resource to tax practitioners on new legislative matters; this would include reviewing and analyzing new and amended legislation with a focus on understanding and communicating the impact to the firm’s clients, processes, and policies.
2. Play a key role in the development of various internal and external tax articles.
3. Collaborate with the Learning & Development team to develop tax training materials, with opportunities to deliver these presentations.
4. Work with team members in the development of tools, templates and models to assist the Tax Service Line in servicing their clients.
5. Help manage key tax technologies including Taxprep.
6. Assist with the exploration, evaluation and implementation of new tax technologies.
7. Proactively aid in standardizing processes and sharing best practices for the delivery of tax services across the country.
8. Assist with risk management initiatives relating to tax services.
9. Coordinate with other teams to manage various projects and implement initiatives.
10. Support the development of tax technical planning and advisory opportunities for tax practitioners.
11. Motivate, coach, and develop National Tax Team members.

1. A CPA designation, Master of Taxation or completion (or near completion) of CPA Canada’s In-depth Tax Program.
2. Minimum 3-5 years’ experience within a professional services environment.
3. Post-secondary education in a related field.
4. Experience using Taxprep or equivalent software (e.g., Profile or TaxCycle).
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Takes ownership of tasks, and proactively advances tasks and projects.
7. Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills.
8. Strong ability to quickly understand new concepts and technologies.
9. Works well as part of a team and focuses on collaboration and cooperation.
10. Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence.
11. Interest in coaching and development, with a commitment to personal growth.
