Maintenance Technician (Millwright), Weekend Night Shift

Metrie is hiring for a Maintenance Technician (Millwright) position for our Weekend Night Shifts (Friday to Sunday) from 6:00 pm to 6:15 am in Woodbridge, ON!

What You’ll Do
This position is responsible for supporting production through the maintenance of equipment and machines utilized to produce quality products at or below standard cost. To meet the job requirements, the Junior maintenance technician must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift (50lbs) from floor to overhead, carry, crawl under, crawl over, crouch, bend, twist, turn, grip, use ladders, reach, climb stairs, or any combination of these physical requirements to be able to repair the various equipment in multiple locations around the facility. These physical demands may be short or long term based on the nature of the repair.

Who You Are
During the training and onboarding process, you must be available in the following shift until the required necessary knowledge has been acquired:

Weekend Night Shift: Monday to Thursday, 6:00 PM to 6:15 AM

Skills & Knowledge Requirements:

• Understand company safety regulations and relevant occupational health and safety legislation.
• Mechanical aptitude and understanding of processes in a factory.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and priority planning capabilities.
• Effective communication for General Production staff and ability to work with operators and management.
• Proactivity, creativity, and initiative for reducing time, falling, and improving General Production workers and Operator’s knowledge and skills.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment including mechanical and electrical systems.
• Read and understand blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings.
• Support the maintenance team with troubleshooting and repairs of electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot problems in a timely manner.
• Support the team in repairing and replacing defective equipment.
• Assist in the installation and dismantling of equipment with the help of various hand and power tools.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and minimal disruption to operations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation for all work performed.
• Help manage inventory of maintenance supplies and tools.
