Job Description

Position Summary:

As an Information Developer you will work with a world class team to document new technologies along with our product lines. In this position you will work with partners across the world to produce online help, reference manuals, and release notes. You will be part of a team responsible for using technologies to deliver intuitive knowledge experiences.

You will report to the Information Developer Manager who is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Create, develop, plan, write and edit operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication.
  2. Conduct interviews with users and technical staff to gather data for documentation.
  3. Research and translate technical information into web-based documents for non-technical and technical users.
  4. Recommend formats responsive to technical and customer requirements.
  5. Revise current information for users for existing products and create information for users for new products.
  6. Provide recommendations for improvement and proofread texts to identify and correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors.
  7. Identify required user assistance content. Analyze function specifications and support documentation and work closely with subject matter experts to identify the content required to meet user needs.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  1. Bachelor's Degree
  2. Legal authorization to work in Canada is required - we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, not now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  1. Typically requires 8+ years of experience in a related area working with the Software Development Life Cycle.
  2. Fluency in French (written and verbal).
  3. 5+ years of experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework Environment.
  4. 5+ years of experience working with Dita XML tools.
  5. 5+ years of experience working in a web-based content management system.
  6. Write and edit information for users, such as Online Help, User Guides, Release Notes, and UI text string reviews.
  7. Technical capacity to understand complex software systems and industry business concepts.
  8. Proficient in using documentation templates and style guides to develop documentation that has a consistent visual and structural approach.
