Position Overview:
Receiving Associates work as part of a team to unload merchandise from carriers and check the quantity and quality of merchandise. In addition, they must RGR (Rough Goods Receipt)/DGR (Detail Goods Receipt) and enter information about incoming merchandise into the stores’ system using the tools provided (e.g., First Phone). All Receiving Associates are required to be licensed to use powered lift equipment (i.e., electric pallet jack, reach truck, order puller, forklift) which may be used when unloading trucks and moving freight from receiving to designated staging areas. A successful Receiving Associate must have a high level of work commitment, attention to detail and the ability to learn and follow procedures. Freight Team associates may also require picking orders when assigned, utilizing the Order Fulfillment Application to get details on orders that need to be picked. Associates in this role must be able to use the store systems/tools to identify product, article and vendor information, product location and store layout to provide the most efficient and highest quality service to our customers.

Physical Requirements:
Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items frequently requires the ability to lift and move heavy and bulky items without assistance. Responding to public address system announcements requires listening for customer service calls, personal pages and general information announcements. Walking and standing requires moving around the store to assist Customers. Identifying and reading reports, tickets and UPC labels requires recognizing, identifying, and using merchandise and necessary reports. Climbing ladders requires being able to climb a ladder, up to the height of 12 - 16 feet, to obtain or stock merchandise.

Working Conditions:
Due to forklifts and other heavy equipment traveling through the store, temporary cracks may appear in the floor, causing an uneven walking surface. The warehouse environment can be dusty and noisy. Doors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes. Floors around work area may become slippery during wet weather conditions. May have to handle merchandise and work with tools with sharp edges. Tools, supplies and related merchandise may contain hazardous material.
