Our client, a global leader in supplying rollers, idlers, and motorized pulleys for heavy-duty belt conveyors used in quarries and mining applications, is seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer. In today’s rapidly advancing technological environment, this role is crucial for ensuring the precision, reliability, and compliance of the company’s products and processes. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving improvements in product quality, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems that ensure product and process integrity.
- Conduct audits and inspections to verify compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Identify recurring product or process discrepancies and lead initiatives to resolve them efficiently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and production, to enhance product design and process quality.
- Ensure that products meet both customer expectations and industry regulatory standards.
- Train and mentor staff on quality control procedures and advocate for continuous improvement across the organization.
Core Duties:
- Analyze statistical data and product specifications to define quality standards and objectives for reliability.
- Perform root cause analysis on product defects and failures, providing detailed reports to relevant teams and stakeholders.
- Work closely with product development teams to ensure the integration of comprehensive quality checks and standards into the design and production phases.
- Maintain active communication with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality standards are upheld throughout the supply chain.
- Monitor and manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality-related issues.
- Support the development and maintenance of documentation and records related to quality control.
Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- Certification from recognized quality standards organizations, such as the American Society for Quality (ASQ), with credentials like Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) preferred.
- Practical experience in using industry-specific tools, methodologies, and technology for quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to the manufacturing and mining industries.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis, statistical quality control, and continuous improvement methods.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and implement solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Experience in conducting audits and working with cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other process improvement methodologies.
