Roles and Responsibilities

1. Creates designs on paper then makes a sample in a workshop.
2. The applicant should have good technical skills in areas such as pattern cutting, grading, and garment construction.
3. Create/visualize an idea and produce a design by hand sketching or using computer-based software.
4. Work with others in the design team, such as buyers and forecasters, to develop products to meet a brief.
5. Create new developments in terms of fabric, prints, and design.
6. Able to create sketches in Corel Draw/photoshop as well as by hand.
7. The responsibilities of a designer include producing concepts, making sketches, and analyzing trends in fabric, colors, and shapes.
