Responsibilities

1. Install electrical controls and panel boxes
2. Replace and repair electrical controls and panel boxes
3. Maintain professionalism in customer service
4. Install underground wiring and cables
5. Keep maintenance reports and documentation
6. Design and construct single-phase service for single or multimeter installations
7. Splice, join and connect wires
8. Design and construct low voltage (30 to 750V) multiphase service for single or multimeter installations
9. Test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults integrity of circuits
10. Determine appropriate selection of materials and methods for hazardous locations
11. Troubleshoot and isolate faults
12. Connect power to audio and visual equipment
13. Install surface mount and/or overhead cables
14. Instruct apprentices
15. Install power generation, stand-by power generation and power conditioning systems
16. Supervise other workers
17. Ground and bond electrical equipment, systems and structures including swimming pools and hot tubs
18. Estimate costs and materials
19. Renovate electrical systems in residential and commercial structures
20. Conduct preventive maintenance programs
21. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
22. Commission systems and components

Credentials

1. Electrician Trade Certification
2. Working at heights training
3. Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) clearance Certificate
4. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
5. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
6. Construction Electrician Red Seal Certificate
7. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence required; Travel expenses paid by employer.
