Role:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Technical Training Specialist is responsible for creating, delivering, and managing technical training programs to support employees across various departments and customers. This role will ensure that training initiatives are aligned with the organization’s goals, helping employees develop the technical skills needed to perform their duties efficiently. The specialist will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design training that enhances technical competencies of the employees and meets the evolving needs of the business, as well as create training programs tailored to customer requirements for effective implementation and support.

This role is hybrid for Calgary.

Responsibilities:

  1. Create and Manage Content: Develop and maintain technical training materials for diverse audiences, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and regular updates.
  2. Content Development: Design both instructor-led and eLearning content using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
  3. Technical Acumen: Demonstrate the ability to quickly grasp and understand complex technical information to effectively design and deliver training content that meets organizational needs.
  4. Needs Assessment: Gain an understanding of industry standards, departmental requirements, and processes to curate technical content for effective training program design and delivery.
  5. Stakeholder Management: Partner with departments to identify skill gaps and training needs, working closely with SMEs to ensure content aligns with the latest industry standards and departmental goals.
  6. Documentation Management: Oversee technical training documentation, including PowerPoints, manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and reference materials, ensuring accessibility and currency.
  7. Train-the-Trainer Facilitation: Facilitate ‘train-the-trainer’ courses to empower the Services team in delivering effective customer training while promoting best practices.
  8. Evaluation and Improvement: Implement evaluation metrics and feedback mechanisms to assess training program effectiveness, analyzing results to optimize learning outcomes and technical competence across teams.
  9. Logistics Coordination: Manage all logistical aspects of training sessions, including scheduling, venue arrangements, and equipment setup, to ensure smooth and effective training delivery.

WHO YOU ARE:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Proven ability to design and implement technical training programs, with experience in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Strong project management skills to handle multiple training projects simultaneously.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Adult Education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in creating clear and concise technical documentation and training materials for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical information to design and deliver effective training content.
  • Experience in technical training or instructional design within an engineering or related industry, preferably with familiarity in data center technologies or cooling liquid solutions.
  • Knowledge of advanced training methods such as simulation-based learning or virtual reality for technical teams.

  • Instructional Design: Familiarity with eLearning tools and instructional design principles.
