Lead Java Developer

Position: Senior/Lead Java Developer (Canada)

Location: Montreal, QC (3 days onsite must)

Duration: 12 Months

We would need someone who can assume responsibility for projects within the system. Their goal will be to clarify business requirements and ensure consistent, clean code is implemented with timely delivery. The right candidate should enjoy working in a highly collaborative environment that values teamwork and offers a lot of flexibility as long as productivity and quality are maintained.

The required skills are:

1. Very strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
2. 8 to 15 years of experience in Java backend development
3. Very strong knowledge of software design principles: MVC, data structures, graph data, algorithms, design patterns, multithreading, caching, recursion
4. Strong knowledge of core Java: class loading, garbage collection, Java collections API, Reflections API, Java 8 Streams and Functional Programming
5. Strong knowledge of Object Relation Mapping technologies: JPA/Hibernate
6. Strong knowledge of common Java frameworks (Spring, JSR-303, Logback, JUnit, Apache Commons)
7. Strong knowledge of Relational Databases and SQL (DB2)
8. Good knowledge of Non-Relational Databases and No-SQL (MongoDB)

Nice to have:

1. Strong knowledge of BDD (behavior-driven development) with JBehave/Cucumber
2. Experience with TDD (test-driven development)
3. Strong knowledge of GIT source code management
4. Knowledge of Gradle, Jenkins automated build processes
5. Strong knowledge of Representation state transfer (RESTful Web services)
6. Strong knowledge of enterprise Java: JAX-RS, JTA, Jetty/Tomcat
7. Knowledge of HTTP, XML, JSON
8. Knowledge of React.js
9. Knowledge of Unix/Linux
10. Knowledge of Liquibase database schema management
