Job description

Applications are being accepted for the position of: INDIGENOUS SUPPORT WORKER (ISW). ISW work is a great way to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students throughout the district.

Ideal candidates should have:

  1. Up to one academic year of coursework related to Child Youth Care or equivalent training and experience.
  2. Job-related experience working with children and youth for greater than 12 months.
  3. An understanding of indigenous culture.
  4. A good understanding of behavior management techniques.
  5. Willingness to obtain a Food Safe Certificate, once hired.
  6. Physically capable of performing the job duties.

This is a unionized position with a pay rate as of July 1, 2023, of $33.55 per hour. Job details are available on our website under job description #80: Indigenous Support Worker Job Description.
