As a Game Master at our escape rooms business, you will be responsible for creating an immersive and enjoyable experience for our customers. Your role is crucial in ensuring that players have an unforgettable adventure while maintaining safety and ensuring the smooth operation of the escape rooms. You will act as the face of our business, greeting participants, providing game instructions, and monitoring their progress during gameplay. This position requires a strong sense of customer service, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement: Greet and welcome players upon their arrival, setting a positive and enthusiastic tone for their experience.
Explain the escape room rules, safety guidelines, and the storyline to players before the game begins.
Answer any questions or concerns the participants may have to ensure they are comfortable and ready to start the game.
- Game Facilitation: Brief players on the specific scenario and objectives of the escape room they are about to enter.
Monitor the game through surveillance cameras and audio systems, ensuring players follow the rules and providing hints when requested or when players are stuck.
Maintain a high level of excitement and engagement throughout the game, keeping players motivated and immersed in the experience.
- Safety and Security: Conduct pre-game checks to ensure all elements of the escape room are functioning correctly and safely.
Be vigilant during gameplay to ensure players adhere to safety guidelines and prevent any unsafe actions that could compromise the experience or put participants at risk.
- Customer Service: Address customer concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally, aiming to provide an exceptional customer experience.
Assist with bookings, check-ins, and other front-of-house tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Game Reset and Maintenance: Reset the escape room quickly and efficiently after each group completes the game, ensuring all puzzles, clues, and props are in their original positions.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs of escape room elements to ensure their proper functioning.
- Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate with other Game Masters and staff members to coordinate game schedules, share insights, and maintain a cohesive and efficient work environment.
Report any technical issues, customer feedback, or notable incidents to the management team.
Requirements:
- MUST BE AVAILABLE ON SATURDAYS.
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional education in hospitality, theater, or related fields is a plus).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Enthusiastic and energetic personality, capable of maintaining excitement throughout the gameplay.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to assist players when they encounter challenges.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A keen eye for detail to ensure escape rooms are safe and all game elements are functioning correctly.
- Comfortable with flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical capability to reset rooms and move props as needed.
- Passion for escape room games, puzzles, and interactive entertainment.
