The Real Talk Group is proud to collaborate with the talent delivery partner of a global consultancy recognized for successfully delivering high-profile, complex, and iconic large-scale capital projects. Renowned for their commitment to sustainability and innovation, our client leads the way in their industry.

We are looking to hire a Project Controls Cost Consultant to contribute to major capital projects within the Life Sciences and Industrial Manufacturing sectors.

This role involves managing all facets of cost management, including cost planning, procurement, and post-contract financial oversight. You will engage with clients, project teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to exceptional quality standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key role in groundbreaking, complex projects within a forward-thinking and evolving industry.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop cost plans that align with client budgets and project specifications.
  2. Present detailed cost estimates to clients and internal teams.
  3. Assist with procurement activities, including prequalification, tender analysis, and contract preparation.
  4. Ensure procurement processes are efficient and align with project objectives.
  5. Track project expenses, manage change orders, and maintain accurate cost reporting.
  6. Ensure strong financial controls throughout the project lifecycle.
  7. Serve as a key contact for clients and stakeholders, providing expert cost-related guidance.
  8. Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure clear communication and alignment on project financials.
  9. Monitor and manage post-contract cost performance, addressing cost variances effectively.
  10. Oversee final account negotiations and implement value engineering strategies to optimize costs.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering or Construction Management.
  2. 2–4 years in a Cost Consultancy role, ideally with exposure to managing large-scale projects in life sciences, industrial manufacturing, or other capital-intensive sectors.
  3. Proven ability to manage budgets, conduct cost analysis, and oversee financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication abilities, capable of effectively presenting complex cost data to clients and stakeholders.
  5. Familiarity with the life sciences or industrial manufacturing industries, with an understanding of the unique challenges and considerations these sectors pose for cost management and project delivery.
