What you will do:
Develop and implement the sustainability reporting and disclosure strategy, ensuring alignment with HOOPP’s goals and industry best practices.
Lead the design and implementation of sustainability reporting processes and controls, including building out the ESG data collection platform, tools, and metrics database.
Collaborate with the Sustainable Investing team to develop and implement the ESG data strategy required to collect and capture ESG data as well as to cleanse, integrate, and validate key data points required for calculation and reporting.
Lead the calculation, analysis, and reporting of HOOPP’s carbon footprint and sustainability data to internal and external stakeholders.
Engage with internal and external auditors on sustainability reporting engagements.
Collaborate with the Sustainable Investing team, the Sustainability and Financial Reporting Policy team, as well as industry peers to ensure alignment with sustainability reporting standards and best practices.
Conduct regular reviews of sustainability reporting processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements as needed.
Influence and engage with teams across HOOPP to enhance sustainability reporting practices to meet growing disclosure requirements.
Keep informed of relevant sustainability trends, regulations, and reporting frameworks to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in reporting.
Represent HOOPP at various industry conferences and events, showcasing sustainability efforts and sharing best practices with peers.
What you bring:
University undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or related discipline.
A CPA or CFA designation is required.
Minimum of 5 years of management experience in financial reporting and sustainability-related reporting roles with a global asset manager and/or a large financial institution.
Solid understanding and experience with sustainability reporting metrics and methodologies like GHG Protocol and PCAF.
Strong understanding of the sustainable investing landscape and emerging ESG concepts.
Strong knowledge of various investment classes including marketable securities, derivatives, and private investments.
Hands-on experience of developing reports using a range of business intelligence tools (e.g., PowerBI, Qlikview/QlikSense) and technologies (e.g., Python, SQL, Power Query).
Strong data modeling, data processing, and data analysis skills.
Experience with different types of databases and data warehouses (e.g., SAP HANA, Snowflake).
Conceptual and abstract thinker with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience reporting and presenting to senior management and Board levels.
Ability to exercise authority through influence, implement change, and standardize processes in an ever-changing landscape.
Superior strategic thinking and planning skills, including the ability to set priorities, identify opportunities, and distill business implications from research and data.
