Overview:
Our client is headquartered in Vancouver’s downtown core. They are a boutique consultancy specializing in the development of proprietary software for machine learning, data pipeline, and data analytics. They are looking for two Mobile Application Developers with strong skills in React Native development who have worked on apps in the Apple store. This role requires the individual to collaborate with both internal and external teams to serve one of their core clients. The ideal candidate should be keen on joining a team that builds innovative software solutions in partnership with external clients. While the primary focus will be working with one client, there will be an opportunity to learn and grow over time.

What you will be doing:

• Developing critical software features, designing architecture, and providing technical expertise in mobile development.
• Driving best practices and development principles, understanding key metrics, and finding ways for the team to continue to improve.
• Assisting the Engineering Manager with the delivery of product features, managing timelines, and supporting the team by removing blockers and achieving goals.
• Helping to reduce the Support backlog by identifying and eliminating the root causes of high-impact issues.
• Working productively with minimal supervision, as well as enjoying collaboration with others.
• Training and mentoring junior engineers/developers.

What you must have:

• Must be able to work 3 days a week in our office in downtown Vancouver.
• 5+ years of experience in mobile app development, with at least 2 years working with React Native.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React Native.
• Experience with mobile app architecture and design patterns (MVC, MVVM, Redux).
• Familiarity with native mobile development (iOS) and native mobile features such as push notifications, contacts, GPS, calling, and SMS.
• Hands-on experience with tools and libraries such as Expo, Firebase, Realm, etc.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks for mobile applications.
• Experience in mobile app maintainability.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with app store submission processes (Apple App Store and Google Play). Have published apps in Apple App Store and/or Google Play store.

Nice to have:

• Experience with real estate or similar domain applications.
• Knowledge of backend services and APIs (Node.js, GraphQL, or RESTful APIs).
• Understanding of mobile security best practices.

Salary/Rate Range: $110,000 CAD/yr – $130,000 CAD/yr
