Description

Circuit Stream is a leader in future technology skills training and learning content. We offer world-class educational services for teen and adult learners with a focus on the skills needed to leverage immersive and emerging technology.

We are seeking a passionate robotics engineer or computer scientist to instruct our Drone Engineering summer programs to learners aged 13-18. Students will be using a drone made for learning (CoDrone EDU | Robolink) and will learn Python programming/coding, as well as aerodynamics, sensors, temperature, custom controllers, etc. The ideal instructor candidates for this course should possess a strong foundation in Python 3, drone programming, as well as some teaching, TA or training experience.

Our Drone Engineering with Python teen courses will be offered at multiple times in the formats and locations below (subject to enrollments). Please indicate your availability and location as part of this application process. Preference will be given to candidates who are available to teach during the day (8am - 3pm PT) in July and August in-person.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions with teen learners following the Drone Engineering course curriculum.
  • Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students as they ideate, develop, and iterate on their drone obstacle course project.
  • Showcase proficiency in Python and drone programming/coding.
  • Share real-world experiences, case studies, and insights to offer students a holistic understanding of the field.
  • Grade assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress within the course.

Requirements

  • Availability to teach during the day (between the hours of 8am to 3pm PT) in Summer 2025.
  • Previous professional experience in drone engineering roles or internships.
  • Educational background in Robotics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electronic Engineering specializing in drone technology.
  • Proficiency in Python 3 and PyCharm as well as programming for drones like CoDrone EDU or similar.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
  • Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students.
  • A passion for guiding and mentoring students, fostering their growth, and providing meaningful feedback.
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving curriculum needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • A collaborative attitude, eager to contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
  • A proactive attitude towards ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with industry advancements.
  • A strong portfolio of relevant work to showcase your skills and experience.
