Here's What You Bring to the Team:
- A bachelor’s degree, or diploma in architectural technology or related field.
- Minimum 5 years experience in architectural design.
- 3-5 years experience leading a successful and efficient team.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant drafting and design software.
- Experience in the residential home building industry is preferred.
- A self-starter, get things done right and on time attitude.
- Strong time management skills and high attention to detail is a necessity.
Here's What Your Day-To-Day Could Look Like:
- Lead the Drafting & Design Team to produce accurate working drawings and plot plans in compliance with company policies, codes, and customer requirements.
- Manage daily and ongoing tasks, including reviewing personal workload, tracking project timelines, and ensuring all required documentation is completed (e.g., work orders, estimating notes).
- Collaborate with architectural control officers to resolve issues and ensure designs meet guidelines.
- Oversee new model creation, updates to construction details, and the preparation of working drawings.
- Assist in the research and development of new designs, attending show home tours and coordinating approvals for architectural controls.
- Manage the drafting team’s performance, including setting goals, providing feedback, and conducting regular check-ins.
- Support cost control and estimating teams with drawing revisions, new model copies, and structural/code compliance advice.
- Ensure technology standards are met for AutoCAD and other tools, and manage file structure and backups with IT.
- Collaborate with the construction teams, attending meetings and conducting site visits as needed.
