Drafting and Design

Westpoint Cutting & Design Ltd. is a Waterjet cutting and fabrication company mainly supplying products for the automotive, oil and gas, as well as a number of other industries. We are currently looking for a person who wants to engage in a great career in design and fabrication. This position requires an individual that will diversify and grow our design scope and assist in machine operation when required.

This position involves dealing with customers in person, over the phone, and via email. Responsibilities include turning customer-supplied sketches into drawings, developing products, ensuring quality control, and following projects through the shop from conception to completion through various fabrication processes. The role also requires operation and understanding of different types of CNC cutting machines.

• Duties

* Create flat patterns of sheet metal using AutoCAD for machine processing, as well as the ability to create 3D parts and assemblies in Solidworks. Aid in providing assistance in creating price quotes.

* Mechanical background necessary and must be willing to get your hands dirty when required to assist in the operation of CNC equipment (Waterjet, Punch, Press Brake, etc).

* Provide support to the shop floor to understand your projects when needed.

• Qualifications

* Applicable college diploma (Mechanical, Design or equivalent experience).

* Good understanding of drafting standards, and good mechanical dexterity.

* Must be proficient with AutoCAD and Solidworks.

* Excellent time management and task prioritization skills, as well as the ability to work unsupervised.

* Passionate for turning an idea into a finished product.

* Program for CNC waterjet cutting machine using FLOW software. May involve running various CNC equipment on shop floor to better learn processes.

* Program for CNC punch using Striker software.

Wages: Depending on Experience
