SUMMARY

About the Role – Door Attendant
Door Attendant and doorkeepers create a welcoming environment for hotel guests and facilitate their arrival or departure. This includes opening doors, hailing taxicabs, greeting guests and carrying their bags into the hotel. Door Attendant may also be responsible for keeping their work area tidy by sweeping and removing refuse.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  1. Attend to all guests entering and exiting the lobby, promptly and professionally.
  2. Assist with all guest luggage.
  3. Educate guests about hotel property and amenities, using the tools and training provided.
  4. Be knowledgeable of surrounding region, services and amenities, in order to handle concierge inquiries accurately.
  5. Manage the front drive efficiently and effectively and in line with established standards.
  6. Valet park vehicles in a safe manner and in line with established standards.
  7. Maintain the proper physical appearance of the front drive, entrance, and lobby, communicating with housekeeping and maintenance departments as required.
  8. Maintain professional presence in the lobby area when between tasks.
  9. Maintain the drive by clearing sidewalks and driveways of garbage, snow, gravel and any other debris.
  10. Perform other assigned comparable or transient duties that are within the domain of knowledge and skills required by the position description.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Proven leadership skills within a luxury setting.
  2. Fine dining leadership experience.
  3. Experience implementing new F&B concepts.
  4. Must possess high energy, an entrepreneurial spirit, and be a motivational leader.
  5. Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  7. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
  8. A Hotel/Hospitality degree is an asset.
