The National Arts Centre (NAC) is Canada's bilingual, multi-disciplinary home for the performing arts. The NAC presents, creates, produces, and co-produces performing arts programming in various streams - the NAC Orchestra, Dance, English Theatre, French Theatre, Indigenous Theatre, and Popular Music and Variety - and nurtures the next generation of audiences and artists from across Canada. The NAC is located on the traditional, unceded, unsurrendered territory of the Anishinabe Algonquin Nation.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (35 hours per week)

Job Reports To: Director of Donor Engagement

Reporting to the Director of Donor Engagement, the Donor Engagement Coordinator will play a key role on the Annual Giving team which manages a membership program for 5,500 donors. We are looking for someone who is fully bilingual (English and French) and experienced in donor service and digital platform management to ensure a smooth and positive experience.

Key Duties

  1. Donor engagement;
  2. Personally renew Donors’ Circle memberships, using a multi-channel approach including mail, email, phone and in-person;
  3. Provide administrative support to the Annual Giving team, including support for mail and email campaigns, updating payment methods and timely tax receipting and stewardship;
  4. Work with the Annual Giving team to envision and execute new campaigns and initiatives;
  5. Support bilingual ticketing concierge services and delivery of donor benefits, including parking reservations and donor events;
  6. Provide general assistance to donors via phone, email, and in-person;
  7. Donor communications;
  8. Build and deploy emails for donor engagement, donor events and stewardship using Engaging Networks, Prospect2 and/or other CRM programs;
  9. Support with mail-outs and campaigns;
  10. Support with pulling reports and analysis across digital platforms, from Raiser’s Edge to email marketing.

Skill Requirements

  1. 1-3 years of experience and/or education in annual giving, digital fundraising, or direct response campaigns in a nonprofit setting;
  2. 1-3 years of experience working directly with patrons and donors in person, via phone and email;
  3. Fluently bilingual in French and English with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both official languages;
  4. Exceptional interpersonal skills: highly patient, approachable, and responsive to donor needs, with a natural ability to build strong relationships;
  5. Proven experience with CRM and email marketing;
  6. Comfortable working with, learning, and adopting new digital platforms;
  7. Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize a variety of projects and activities simultaneously;
  8. Strong attention to detail, precision and adaptability in a dynamic work environment;
  9. Passionate about being part of an organization that actively values diversity, equity, inclusion, and reconciliation.

Additional assets

  1. Experience in the arts and cultural sector is an asset;
  2. Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge NXT, Engaging Networks, Archtic and/or Tessitura is an asset.
