Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border, is 65 kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated halfway between Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Thunder Bay, Ontario. The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear, and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports, and lake country, then this is an area you will love to live and work in.

Applicants who reside in Northwestern Ontario and have experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in Northwest Ontario, are assets. About The Role

Schedule: 5 Days On / 2 Days Off & 4 Days On / 3 Days Off (9 Hour Work Day)

Reporting to: Document Control Specialist

Position Overview:
The Document Control Assistant works to ensure orderly and accessible storage of all site documents and provides assistance to the Document Control Specialist.

This position is based in our Thunder Bay office location.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Digitize, organize and maintain all documents adhering to the company’s document control processes and procedures.
  2. Review completeness and accuracy of metadata for submitted documents and records.
  3. Ensure all documents adhere to project and operational standards and corporate branding guidelines.
  4. Support the creation, review, and approval of documents, and how those documents are systematically retained including tracking, distribution, and disposition.
  5. Provide occasional training and support to users of SharePoint (Library and MOC), InEight Document, and best practices in document control, document management, and records management.
  6. Respond to inquiries and provide support for document retrieval.
  7. Promote a site-wide, team-based culture between employees, departments, and contractors.
  8. Execute work to the highest standards and in accordance with New Gold’s Policies.

Qualifications:
  1. Strong organization and communication skills with an attention to detail.
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Products including SharePoint, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.
  3. Familiarity with Multifunctional devices (i.e.: scanner/printer).
  4. Knowledge or experience using InEight software or electronic document management software would be an asset.
  5. Knowledge of cloud-based platforms or services such as SharePoint and Google Cloud.
  6. Knowledge or experience in document control or construction administration is considered an asset.
  7. Good judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  8. Comfortable participating in virtual and in-person meetings.

Working Conditions:
Office-based role with occasional field visits (driving/walking).
Minimal/occasional lifting required (typically less than 10kgs).
