Dock Attendant

City Experiences is seeking a Dock Attendant for our City Cruises operation in Gananoque.

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.

About the Opportunity:

The Dock Attendant will perform a variety of tasks to ensure a smooth operation of the docks. The Dock Attendant will work in a safe and efficient manner while providing a high level of customer service to all guests. This position reports to the Dock Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide amazing hospitality to guests and coworkers as prescribed in RESPECT Service System.
• Manage guest traffic flow on and off the docks.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure the protection of passengers and the vessel.
• Handle lines to moor vessels to dock.
• Ensure docks are clean and free of any debris.
• Answer general inquiries and provide information about the facility.
• Immediately report any incidents or safety concerns to the Dock Manager.
• Provide amazing customer service and assist guests with questions or concerns and relay information to the Dock Manager.
• Assist Food & Beverage team with daily food delivery and restock of boats.
• Follow all safety policies, departmental policies, and service standards.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
• Be prepared to begin work at the scheduled time.
• Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards.
• Additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• O.S.S.D. or equivalent as recognized by the Ministry of Education.
• Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to guests and coworkers.
• Must possess a service orientation – actively looking for ways to help others.
• Energetic and enthusiastic personality essential.
• If required, wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. non-slip shoes, gloves, weather-appropriate dress attire, sun protection).
• Valid Ontario driver's license, Class G2 or higher.
• Walk, stand, sit and work in all types of weather conditions for extended periods.
• Will work for extended periods of time without sitting.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, move or lift up to 40 pounds (18 kilograms).
• Will be required to be available for work on all major holidays.
