Job Description: Vitamin & Supplement Manager, Retail

Reports To: Store Manager

This position is expected to oversee the overall operations of the retail unit with a specific focus on the customer experience in the Vitamin and Personal Care departments while ensuring proper inventory levels are maintained, department presentation is at its peak, and store associate training is completed regarding product knowledge as well as sales training. Create a healthy teamwork environment by maintaining interdependent relationships with team members and working successfully across all areas of the business. Bring to Manager's immediate attention all problem areas such as customer complaints/concerns and product problems (contamination, outdated or quality issues) and staff issues. Complete in a timely and efficient manner all other duties that may be assigned by the Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Education & Customer Service: Stay updated about the natural products to provide excellent customer service. Share information and answer customer questions about health, fitness, supplements, and natural nutrition. Ensure store associates are educated and well trained to provide customer service in the Vitamin and Natural Products areas.
2. Inventory Management of Vitamin & Personal Care Sections: Prepare orders for Vitamin and Personal Care products. Ensure all Vitamin and Personal Care products are labeled and correctly priced. Ensure all seasonal and regular stock is price reduced or cleared before becoming unsaleable (following company guidelines for stock clearance). Be proficient in AutoStar Point of Sales and Inventory Management Software. Ensure all pricing information is correctly implemented, i.e., price changes, seasonal specials, clear-outs, etc.
3. Merchandising Promotions: Work with store associates to make sure that the Vitamin and Personal Care areas are well merchandised, signed and properly stocked; and adequately prepared and displayed at the opening and through each business day, i.e., all retail areas and merchandising units are properly faced and displayed. Implement corporate or store specific merchandising and product variations as it relates to the Vitamin and Personal Care areas as directed by Store Manager. Provide feedback to store associates on promotional or sale results. Provide input to Store Manager in sourcing new vendors and products. Implement specific merchandising/promotional activities for the Vitamin and Personal Care areas.
4. Administration: Overlook the Vitamin and Personal Care areas, discuss staffing issues with Store Manager before taking any corrective action. Monitor inventory, shipping/receiving, ensuring that proper stock levels are maintained, minimizing surplus stock and over-ordering. Run sales reports as specified by the Store Manager, complete analysis of reports and provide feedback to results of report as required; in consultation with Store Manager, make changes. Work with Vitamin staff with inventory concerns at month end. Complete all claims for damaged or customer returned products from Suppliers and follow-ups for receiving of credits. Along with Store Manager, plan for advertorials based on current health issues, Dr. Mercola's Articles, and/or monthly health awareness schedule.
