Job description

As a District Sales Manager, you are focused on driving store performance in our Canadian Tire Retail Stores. You will partner closely with a defined group of Associate Dealers to provide consultative sales support and recommendations on the profitable growth of their business. Your strong understanding of the competitive retail landscape and market specific conditions will help establish yourself as a trusted business partner to your Associate Dealers and store staff. Your customer-centric approach and passion for retail will play a key role in propelling Canadian Tire to becoming the undisputed #1 Retail Brand in Canada.

In this role, you'll:

  1. Collaboratively develop and support the execution of customized business plans to achieve financial and operational goals for stores within your district.
  2. Identify and diagnose opportunities to increase performance in store. Leverage available data to inform recommendations and develop action plans.
  3. Provide coaching and individual support to Dealers on executing Sales, Merchandising and Marketing initiatives with a focus on driving store performance.
  4. Understand key operational levers that drive store performance and engage cross-functional support where required to action these opportunities.
  5. Establish yourself as the central point of contact to support driving in-store performance.
  6. Protect the Canadian Tire brand through monitoring store standards and customer experience measures.

What you bring:

  1. Minimum 5 years progressive experience in the retail industry with a focus on driving sales.
  2. Possess strong understanding of store operations including logistics, retail merchandising, automotive service and horticulture.
  3. Canadian Tire retail store leadership experience an asset.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills with a passion for retail and a desire to work with a variety of entrepreneurial Dealers and store staff all driving with a common goal to serve the customer.
  5. Ability to coach and train individuals and groups.
  6. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain trusted relationships.
  7. Experience using data and analytics to perform root cause analysis and inform solutions.
  8. Strong organizational skills.
  9. Strong communication skills, written, verbal and an active listener.
  10. Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  11. Strong attention for detail and a readiness to continually look for ways to improve productivity.
  12. University or College degree an asset.

This is a field-based position requiring regular travel within your district and requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver's licence. The successful candidate will have to provide proof that s/he has a valid driver's licence upon being hired.
