What We Need:

The Director, Technology Services is a senior leadership role within the Digital Health portfolio responsible for the delivery of all IT infrastructure systems, related security operations, desktop support and Service Desk services. The Director will drive innovation and operational excellence, ensuring optimal system performance and an exceptional user experience that directly supports hospital operations and enhances patient care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute a forward-thinking digital strategy that aligns technology initiatives with the organization's vision and priorities.
  • Lead the design and long-term planning of scalable IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud platforms, and data centers, ensuring readiness to adopt emerging technologies.
  • Lead the development and management of technology budgets, ensuring cost-effective investments that support strategic IT goals.
  • Lead and manage IT teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional development.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of critical IT systems, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and rapid scalability to meet evolving hospital demands.
  • Establish robust cybersecurity controls and operational procedures to ensure compliance with corporate cybersecurity framework and policies.
  • Direct and monitor cybersecurity measures, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management, to maintain a secure operating environment.
  • Manage and continuously improve the end-user support services, ensuring the Service Desk and desktop support teams provide timely and effective technical resolution.
  • Build strong relationships with clinical, administrative, and other teams to ensure that technology solutions meet their needs.
  • Promote a customer-focused mindset across all technical support functions, prioritizing user experience and fostering an environment where feedback drives continuous improvement.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives by exploring new directions in AI, automation and interoperability, fostering an environment of proactive digital transformation.
  • Serve as the chair and/or members of relevant corporate governance committees.
  • Collaborate with SHINE partners, Meditech Collaborative, Ontario Health Teams (OHT), and other external partners.

What you bring to the role:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in technology infrastructure operations services roles.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in IT Operations or IT services leadership roles in healthcare required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related fields required, Masters degree preferred.
  • ITIL or PMP required.
  • Cisco certificate: CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.
  • Microsoft certificate: Azure, Security or Enterprise Administrator preferred.
  • Cybersecurity certificate: Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong working experience in leading IT infrastructure and service delivery in an acute care hospital.
  • Deep understanding of modern IT architectures, including networks, cloud platforms, data centers, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong working experience in implementing the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework in healthcare.
  • Strong working experience in managing large budgets, resource allocation, and cost-benefit analysis to support strategic IT investments.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively inspire, mentor, and lead diverse teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Strong leadership, team building and highly developed organizational skills with a track record of achieving results.
  • Excellent in building and nurturing relationships across various departments, and serving as a liaison between technical teams, hospital leadership, and external vendor.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Highly developed and innovative critical thinking skills with the ability to conceptualize, analyze and problem solve.
  • Demonstrated experience with organizational change and improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent decision-making, strategic planning experience and evaluation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to plan and coordinate various activities and manage competing priorities and balance multiple, disparate tasks.

Work Schedule:

Full-time, Management Position. Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.

Compensation:

BAND B
Range: $73.80 - $96.31
