The Corporate & Investor Relations (CIR) department plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing BCI's relationships with its clients and stakeholders through world-class engagement. The department is responsible for understanding the clients' needs and representing their interests within the organization, helping them develop investment strategies and policies, and communicating effectively with both internal and external audiences. There now exists an opportunity for an experienced and strategic communications leader to join BCI to take in a high profile and critical role of Director, Strategic Communications. Reporting to the EVP, Corporate & Investor Relations, the Director, Strategic Communications oversees a diverse portfolio including BCI’s client communications, employee and internal corporate communications, events, studio, brand development and design and digital strategy. In this key leadership role overseeing a team of 16, the Director will play a critical role in maintaining and strengthening long-term partnerships with BCI’s internal and external clients and stakeholders by refining the team’s engagement strategy and processes to ensure continuing success. Key mandates include the continued evolution of the client portal and client engagement strategy, rebuilding the internal intranet and supporting ongoing change management initiatives, better leveraging the various platforms and tools to promote the corporate brand and engage with its stakeholders, and providing strong leadership to reduce silos, improve collaboration, and streamline processes.
The successful candidate will be a corporate communications leader with experience in strategic communications, including employee engagement/employer and corporate branding. This experience could have been gained within an institutional investment management and/or investment consulting organization. To explore this opportunity further, BCI offers a competitive total rewards package which includes a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan and paid time off. The annualized base salary range for this Victoria-based role is ~ CAD $144,000-$170,000 plus bonus and benefits. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience and expertise.
