Duties
The Director of Security Services is responsible for providing strategic, tactical, and technical leadership in the planning, management, and delivery of security programs and services. The Director of Security Services provides authoritative and strategic advice, and subject-matter expertise to departmental senior management, colleagues, portfolio partners, clients, and stakeholders at OSFI.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Implements strategies, tactics, and priorities regarding the Division’s annual business plans and adjusts those as required.
- Resolves complex security, administrative or management issues.
- Determines the need for new or modified security policies, standards, directives, guidelines, procedures, and processes.
- Represents OSFI’s security objectives to internal and external colleagues and Treasury Board Secretariat representatives.
- Implements and actions approved recovery plans in case of crisis or disaster.
- Manages the acquisition of required human and financial resources to carry out the mandate of the unit.

Compensation: OSFI offers a competitive salary, and employees may be eligible for in-range increases and economic adjustments. Salaries are based on qualifications, experience and knowledge. Intent of the process
The immediate need is to staff one position with a language requirement of bilingual imperative (CBC/CBC) on an indeterminate (permanent) basis. If no bilingual imperative (CBC/CBC) appointment can be made, a bilingual non-imperative (CBC/CBC) appointment may be considered within this advertised appointment process.
A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be created to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles (bilingual imperative, bilingual non-imperative, English essential or French Essential), security requirements, tenures, and/or locations within the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), which may vary according to the position being staffed.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
- A degree* OR diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution OR an acceptable combination of relevant experience AND education or training.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Significant* experience in leading the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of a security program.
- Experience in providing strategic advice, briefings, and recommendations to senior management** regarding security programs, standards, and measures.
- Experience resolving security-related threats or risks to personnel, information, or facilities.
- Experience in collaborating, negotiating, and maintaining relationships and partnerships with various stakeholders.
- Experience in managing human*** and financial resources****.
- Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with the performance of the duties for a period of 3 years.
**Depending on the organizational structure, senior management could mean such levels of management as director level and above, or private-sector equivalent.
***Managing human resources may include the following activities: leading employees and their work, establishing vision and priorities, establishing work plans and performance objectives, planning workforce needs, evaluating performance and developing training plans. ASSET EXPERIENCE
- Public or private sector, corporate security leadership experience.
- Experience with administrative investigations.
- Experience in business continuity planning and emergency preparedness.
- Experience integrating security risk programs with Enterprise Risk Management programs.
- Experience in collaborating, negotiating, and maintaining relationships and partnerships with Enterprise Risk Management or IT/Cyber peers or stakeholders.
